Poverest Celebrates Chinese New Year of the Pig 2019
This week at Poverest we have celebrated Chinese New Year of the Pig. In Walnut & Willow classes, the children ate prawn crackers, made Chinese art and practised Chinese writing. The children made up their own dragon dances and enjoyed playing in our Chinese restaurant role play area. Other activities included painting Chinese numbers, using chopsticks to move noodles, making dragons and lanterns, putting money in envelopes and solving Chinese number puzzles. They loved taking home some chopsticks and fortune cookies on Tuesday to practise at home. Each child throughout the school received their own fortune cookie to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Pig!
