About Us
Welcome to Poverest Primary School!
A warm welcome to the Poverest Primary School website. We hope it will give you a flavour of life at our school and a sense of what we value. We encourage, inspire and challenge our pupils to ‘learn together, grow together and succeed together’ to ensure that every child reaches their full potential and is ready for life beyond our Primary School. We are a two-form entry school with an Autism specialist provision with 20 spaces. We pride ourselves on the inclusive nature of our school. Despite the increase in size, over recent years, we maintain our small school caring and nurturing environment. Please read on for more information about us or watch the video below to get a feeling for our school.
We are part of a Co-operative Schools Network Foundation Trust called AFACT (Aspiration for All Co-operative Trust)with Southborough and Edgebury Primary Schools. This is a very exciting and supportive network and we are always looking to improve our school further through working collaboratively.
We have a highly committed and skilled staff team, who work tirelessly to make sure that our children receive excellent care, meeting all their academic, social and emotional health needs. We are particularly proud of the fact that pupils at Poverest make good levels of progress, regardless of their starting point.
As recognised by Ofsted, we are very much a community school and our families are welcome as much as possible. This partnership was part of the reason why our ‘Outstanding’ EYFS was nominated for an award by the TES. At the heart of our school is a commitment to promote our shared values. At Poverest we are Proud (Polite, respectful and resilient, open-minded, united and determined) and these guide our children in what they do and how they behave.
We are extremely proud of the varied opportunities that are offered to children across the curriculum and as extra-curricular activities. The impressive range of extra-curricular activities is constantly changing and currently includes Cross Country, Computer Game, Chess, Art, Drama, Music, Football, Lacrosse, Dodgeball and Homework Club to name but a few.
Our children have opportunities to learn through a wide range of educational visits and events, including residential trips in Years 2, 4 and 6. There is a shared drive to constantly review, improve and enrich our curriculum to ensure learning is relevant, creative and exciting for all our children.
We hope you enjoy looking at our website and find it useful. Do visit The Galleries where you can see the wide variety of learning opportunities the children enjoy and read our weekly newsletters to see all the interesting things happening at our school. Please contact the school directly with any queries you may have and do come along and meet us.
