Firstly a huge congratulations to everyone connected with year 6 this week. All the children gave the assessments their absolute maximum effort and showed resilience when it was required most. The mathematics papers 2 and 3 were certainly very challenging this year! I also wish to thank all the adults who have supported their children in revising for these tests over the past few weeks. The Year 6 children have enjoyed a fantastic trip today visiting the Crystal Maze for a day of problem-solving - it is just like the old TV series many of us would have seen growing up!
Year 3 enjoyed a brilliant day out at The National Gallery this week, being inspired by so many art pieces with plenty of ideas being brought back into school for the children to try themselves.
Mrs Dale led the school assemblies this week which were focused around mental health as part of Mental Health Week. It is important we all take time to look out for each other within our community and as I say to the children if you can be anything - be kind.
Sporting events continue at Poverest, well done to the school football team for their tough match against Farnborough this week. Next week we have cricket festivals and the Lacrosse regional finals in Guildford - best wishes to the team and lets hopefully cheer them on to gaining a place in the National Finals again!
Next week is the final week of this half-term. We break up at the usual times but on Thursday as Friday is an Inset Day.
Our School Street is working well to keep children safe. If you are a provision parent or hold a disabled badge please be reminded to drive along the road very slowly as children and adults are walking in the road. There are a few cars who park up early before the road closes - please also leave slowly and ensure you always give way to pedestrians using the school street.
Kind Regards
Mr Haylock
